Job Summary
The Field Application Scientist is a critical technical role at Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) focused on driving customer success with Archer's Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) product lines across the DACH region. Day-to-day, the professional will coordinate and conduct hands-on NGS library preparation trainings at customer sites, provide remote technical education on data analysis, and resolve complex troubleshooting cases via email and phone. The role also involves supporting the sales team during pre-sales consultations to provide deep technical expertise. This position is ideal for a scientist who enjoys a blend of laboratory expertise and customer interaction. It offers a unique opportunity to work within the Danaher ecosystem, utilizing continuous improvement systems to accelerate genomics breakthroughs in fields like oncology and infectious diseases. The role is remote-based in Germany, offering significant flexibility while requiring frequent travel to engage directly with the scientific community.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in the Life Science industry or academic research environment
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting technical issues and resolving inquiries from the scientific community
- Hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge of NGS library preparations and sequencing
- Professional experience in a customer-facing or technical support role within the genomics industry

- Must reside in Germany near a major European travel hub; Ability to travel 50-75% within the territory; Remote work eligible; Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) preferred.
