Job Summary
This role is based at the TUM Think Tank within the Munich School of Politics (HfP) at the Technical University of Munich. As a Junior Communications Manager, you will handle day-to-day digital communication tasks, including creating and maintaining website content via CMS, drafting news articles, and producing audiovisual materials for social media. A significant portion of the role involves managing project communications for 'AI4POL,' an EU-funded Horizon Europe research project, where you will translate complex scientific findings into accessible content for policymakers and the public. You will also support event communication and the editorial production of newsletters. This position is ideal for someone interested in the intersection of AI, democracy, and science communication. It offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, high-profile academic environment on a part-time basis (up to 80%) with a contract initially running until the end of 2027 and potential for extension.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Communication Sciences, Media Studies, Political Science, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience
- Initial professional experience in communications, editorial work, or public relations, potentially gained through internships or student assistant roles.
- Experience in creating digital content and managing website updates using CMS tools.
- Experience in writing and editing complex topics for diverse audiences in both German and English.
- Experience or strong interest in AI, democracy, and European research policy.

- The position is part-time (up to 80%) and fixed-term until December 31, 2027, with a possibility of extension. Must be able to work on-site at the Munich School of Politics/TUM Think Tank.
