Job Summary
As a Master Craftsperson or Technician for Grid Management at DB Energie GmbH, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous energy supply for Germany's railway infrastructure. Based in Borken (Hesse), your daily responsibilities include controlling and monitoring power supply systems for overhead lines, signal boxes, and stations. You will actively manage the availability of 50Hz and 16.7Hz railway power systems, lead troubleshooting efforts during disruptions, and independently execute switching operations, including commissioning and documentation. This position is ideal for technical professionals looking to join a sustainable energy leader. It offers a unique opportunity to work on specialized railway power grids and includes a comprehensive internal qualification program for shift service. Required Skills
Education
Certified Master Craftsperson (IHK-Meister) or State-Certified Technician in Electrical Engineering; alternatively, a completed vocational training in the electrical field with several years of experience and willingness to obtain the Master qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the electrical engineering sector
- Experience in railway energy supply, overhead lines, or protection technology is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in independent execution and monitoring of switching operations
- Willingness to work in a 3-shift system including weekends and holidays
- Proven reliability and sense of responsibility in safety-critical environments

- Must pass a medical aptitude test as part of the selection process. Required to obtain a switching authorization (Schaltauftragsberechtigung) through internal training. Must be willing to work a 3-shift rotation including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
