Job Summary
As the Head of the Environmental Department for the District of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, you will lead a dedicated team of approximately 40 employees, overseeing personnel, budget, and resource management. Your daily responsibilities involve directing the lower-level authorities for nature conservation, emission control, and waste management. You will act as a key liaison between local politicians, municipalities, authorities, environmental associations, and citizens. The role requires navigating complex legal frameworks including national and European nature conservation, emission control, waste, and forest law. This position is ideal for a leadership professional who enjoys a mix of administrative strategy, site visits, and committee participation. Required Skills
Education
Qualification for the third qualification level (AIV), successful completion of the Employee Training Course II (BL II), or a law degree (First or Second State Examination), or a comparable university degree.
Experience
- Professional experience in personnel leadership and organizational development is desirable
- Experience in navigating national and European environmental legal frameworks
- Professional experience in public administration or a similar regulatory environment
- Experience in managing budgets and departmental resources
- Proven track record in communication with political stakeholders and public authorities
