Job Summary
This role involves supporting the Technical Manager at the Waldorf School in Weimar, a non-profit educational institution located in a historic former monastery. As a Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of school buildings and outdoor facilities. Your tasks will include performing basic repairs, managing on-site transport of materials, and ensuring the general cleanliness of the campus grounds. Additionally, you will occasionally assist in the school kitchen's food service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, practical work and can operate independently within a structured environment. It offers a unique opportunity to work in a community-focused educational setting on a beautiful, historic campus by the Ilm River. The role is currently offered as a part-time sickness cover (25 hours per week).
Required Skills
Education
Ideally a completed vocational training in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in a technical or trade-based field
- Experience in performing basic building repairs and maintenance
- Proven ability to work independently and in a structured manner
- Experience in groundskeeping or facility caretaking
