This role involves providing comprehensive IT support for educational institutions within the Odenwaldkreis district. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of information technology, handling both First- and Second-Level support requests. Your tasks include troubleshooting software issues, managing Windows and Linux-based server systems (specifically linuxmuster), and overseeing the rollout and installation of new hardware. You will also maintain network infrastructure, ensure data security and backups, and manage firewall systems. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker), IT Systems Clerk, or a comparable qualification. Alternatively, career changers with several years of IT support experience and relevant professional certifications are considered.
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in IT support or similar service-oriented roles
- Professional experience in network architecture and configuration of network hardware
- Professional experience in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments
- Experience in software problem analysis and fault rectification

- Valid Class B driver's license and willingness to use a private vehicle for business trips (reimbursable) is required. Must be eligible for public service employment under the TVöD framework.
