Job Summary
As a Geoinformatics Specialist for the City of Dornbirn, you will play a pivotal role in developing and managing the city's digital twin infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the independent construction and expansion of semantic 3D city models, specifically generating 3D building models from Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) data using City3D. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of 3D building data, including creation, updates, change detection, and historization, while building robust databases using CityGML and CityJSON formats. A key technical aspect of the role includes linking official building and apartment register data (AGWR) to these 3D models. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree (completed or currently enrolled) in Geoinformatics, Geodesy, IT, Data Science, Geography, or a related field.
Experience
- Professional experience or advanced academic focus in automated 3D modeling or remote sensing
- Experience in database management and programming (ideally C++)
- Experience in handling spatial data formats such as CityGML or CityJSON
- Proven ability to work independently on complex technical projects
