Job Summary

This full-time position at the Chair of Medical Chemistry involves the recombinant expression and purification of proteins, primarily using E. coli systems. On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will handle the cultivation of microorganisms, plan and prepare buffers and media, and perform rigorous quality control checks for protein purity, concentration, and stability. The role also includes conducting in-vitro assays to study protein interactions and assisting with biophysical analyses such as NMR and ITC. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Laboratory Technician (Chemielaborant/in) or an equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific field.

Experience

  • Professional experience as a laboratory technician or in a similar chemical/biological role
  • Practical experience in recombinant protein expression specifically in E. coli
  • Experience in protein purification techniques
  • Experience with data evaluation and documentation using standard IT software
  • Preferred: Experience with insect or human cell expression systems
  • Preferred: Experience with protein interaction assays and quality control

Additional
