Job Summary

As a Data Steward for the DFG research group 'Machine Learning for Complex Quantum States', you will play a pivotal role in managing research data across eleven institutes in Germany and Switzerland. Your daily responsibilities will include auditing existing data infrastructures, optimizing workflows, and implementing FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). You will be responsible for setting up internal data exchange systems, developing best practices for research data management, and contributing to the creation of a public platform for Neural Quantum States. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Machine Learning and Quantum Physics, allowing you to build an AI-based chat system for research publications and extend software for standardized data exchange. It is an ideal position for those seeking a flexible, data-centric environment with home-office options within an international scientific consortium.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree, Diploma, or equivalent in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in independent, solution-oriented project work
  • Proven experience in Python programming and using Git repositories
  • Experience in research data management or data-centric environments
  • Experience in Machine Learning and Quantum Physics (desirable)

Additional

  • This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) with a fixed-term contract for two years. The role is based at the University of Regensburg as part of the 'FOR 5919' coordination project.
