Job Summary
As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Medium Voltage and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), you will serve as the technical mastermind for a fast-growing startup in Berlin. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve developing innovative hardware concepts for battery storage products, designing system architectures, and creating connection and measurement concepts for industrial environments. You will act as a hands-on problem solver, evaluating technical feasibility, analyzing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and coordinating directly with grid operators and partners. A unique aspect of this role is the entrepreneurial freedom to shape technical processes from the ground up while representing the company during official certification processes as a qualified electrical specialist. This position is ideal for a proactive engineer who wants to bridge the gap between technical engineering and business development while making a tangible impact on the European energy transition and industrial decarbonization.
Required Skills
Education
Master Electrician, State-certified Technician, or a University degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or Industrial Engineering (focus on Electrical Engineering/Renewables).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in energy technology or grid connection with a focus on medium-voltage systems
- Professional experience in reading, interpreting, and creating technical drawings, site plans, and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Experience in technical coordination with grid operators and authorities
- Experience in project management within a complex technical environment
- Experience in the field of renewable energies, specifically battery storage or PV is preferred

- Switching authorization (Schaltberechtigung) is preferred. Must be eligible to act as a responsible electrical specialist (E-Fachkraft) for system certification. Role is based in Berlin.
