Job Summary

As a Digital Technician at the prestigious Lindenau Museum in Altenburg, you will play a vital role in modernizing and maintaining the technological infrastructure of a high-ranking cultural institution. Your day-to-day responsibilities include setting up computer workstations, managing industry-specific application software on clients and servers, and overseeing network, telecommunications, and information technology components. You will also be responsible for data backup systems, firewalls, and UTM systems, while ensuring the smooth operation of building and security technology. This role is particularly unique as it combines technical IT expertise with the vibrant atmosphere of museum work, including technical support for special events. The position offers the stability of the German public service (TVöD 9a), flexible family-friendly working hours, and the opportunity to work within a museum currently undergoing significant expansion and renovation. It is a full-time, fixed-term contract until December 2027.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Information Technology (e.g., IT Specialist for Systems Integration, IT Systems Electronics Technician, Information Electronics Technician, or equivalent).

Experience

  • Professional experience in information technology, IT system electronics, or information electronics
  • Experience in the administration of networks, firewalls, and data backup systems
  • Experience in technical support for hardware and software environments
  • Experience in supervising third-party service providers for maintenance and repairs
