As a Facility Management Technician at the Borstel Research Center, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of complex technical building systems within a world-class lung research facility. Your day-to-day work involves managing high-tech laboratory environments, historical office buildings, and specialized climate control systems. Key duties include performing fault analysis, troubleshooting technical issues, and conducting cross-trade inspections to ensure uninterrupted research operations. You will also oversee external service providers and maintain building automation systems. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology, Plant Mechanic (Sanitary, Heating, Air Conditioning), or Mechatronics Engineer for Refrigeration Technology.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of technical building systems
  • Several years of practical experience in the maintenance of HVAC/Sanitary systems is preferred
  • Experience working with building control systems and KNX technology
  • Experience in coordinating and supervising external service providers for repair projects
