Job Summary

This part-time (75%) role involves the independent management of environmental sensors and instrumentation at a hydrological research site in the Ore Mountains. Working as part of the DFG Research Unit 'Subsurface Stormflow', the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of sensors monitoring soil moisture, water flow, groundwater levels, and weather data. Key daily tasks include regular data downloads, quality control, and the systematic tracking of water and soil samples for laboratory analysis. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic university environment, collaborating with an international team of scientists and technicians. Required Skills

  • Proven experience in independent organization and project-related travel management.
  • Experience working in international or scientific team environments.

  • Class B driver's license is mandatory for weekly field site visits. Physical fitness for outdoor work in all weather conditions and difficult terrain is required. Must be willing to undertake multi-day field trips with overnight stays. Valid for a fixed-term of 2.5 years.
