This role involves joining the Scalable Computing Hardware group at the Barkhausen Institute to develop secure and dependable multiprocessor systems-on-chip (MPSoC) for IoT applications. As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for the end-to-end hardware design process, from initial HDL simulation and verification to supporting FPGA prototyping and SoC tape-outs. Day-to-day tasks include developing hardware solutions for IoT security, embedded software programming, and contributing to high-quality research publications. This position is ideal for researchers who enjoy a mix of creative design and technical implementation. The role offers a highly collaborative environment with flat hierarchies, flexible agile working hours, and support for relocating to Dresden. Required Skills

Education

Above-average Master's degree (MSc/Diploma) or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related research field.

Experience

  • Professional experience with SoC design flows and related software tools
  • Professional experience in hardware implementation and HDL development
  • Experience in embedded software programming and simulation
  • Experience in writing research publications and project deliverables
  • Knowledge of processor systems and instruction set architectures
