Job Summary
This role is part of the 'BIONEERS' federal project at the LVWO Weinsberg, focusing on the development and testing of resilient organic fruit growing systems. As a Project Officer, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and evaluation of field trials in organic fruit cultivation, specifically involving apples, pears, and apricots. Your day-to-day work involves managing a network of organic fruit farms across Southern Germany, organizing 'Stable Schools' for knowledge transfer, and supporting farms with data entry in the POSEIDON system. You will also communicate research findings through presentations, publications, and field tours. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in agriculture or horticulture who are passionate about organic farming and new technologies. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or Horticulture with a focus on Fruit Growing, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in organic fruit cultivation and phytomedicine
- Proven experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of agricultural trials
- Experience in network coordination or managing stakeholder relationships
- Experience in conducting technical training or educational events
Languages
Additional
- Valid driver's license (Class 3, B, BE, and T) and access to a private car for travel to pilot farms in Southern Germany; work permit/equivalence certificate required for non-EU degrees.
