Job Summary

As a Project Manager for IT and Communication Projects at Airbus Secure Land Communications in Ulm, you will serve as the central point of contact for clients regarding project planning and execution. You will lead teams through defined work packages, ensuring the fulfillment of action items and reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Your daily responsibilities include managing project lifecycles from initial planning—covering structures, schedules, and resource allocation—to final customer acceptance and service handover. You will oversee budget, scheduling, and technical goals while collaborating with product management and development departments in Finland and France. This role is unique for its involvement in high-security mobile radio solutions and tactical communication networks, including the digital radio network for German public authorities. You will also support sales and bid management for new business opportunities, making this a multifaceted role within the defense and aerospace sector.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Telecommunications Engineering, Communication Technology, or a comparable qualification. Project Management Certification (e.g., PMI/PMP or Airbus-internal 'Bronze' level) is required.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in project management
  • Professional experience in the military or defense industry is preferred
  • Experience in managing projects through defined maturity gates and work packages
  • Experience in international collaboration and supplier coordination
