Job Summary
As a Technical Writer in the defense sector, you will be responsible for creating and revising structured technical documentation, including operating, assembly, and maintenance manuals for complex military systems. Working directly with engineers and end-users, you will conduct on-site research to understand technical systems and collaborate with graphic departments to prepare illustrations. This role is unique as it offers a structured career path into military documentation standards like S1000D and IETD, even for those without prior defense experience. Required Skills
Education
Degree or technical training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Technical Informatics, Technical Writing, or a related technical field.
Experience
- Professional experience or background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace, or technical informatics
- Experience in technical writing, technical translation, or technical drawing
- Experience working with complex technical systems and translating them into structured documentation
- Professional experience in customer-facing environments requiring discretion and clear communication
