Job Summary
As a DevOps Engineer at the GKDZ, you will play a critical role in supporting law enforcement across five German states by developing and maintaining high-tech infrastructure for telecommunications surveillance. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve automating deployment and configuration processes using modern orchestration tools and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will also develop and optimize Machine Learning pipelines, handle the homogenization of complex datasets, and ensure the smooth rollout of CI/CD pipelines. This position is unique as it offers the stability of the public sector (including potential civil servant status) while working with cutting-edge technologies like Rust and PyTorch in the fight against organized crime. Based in Leipzig, the role provides a modern working environment with flexible hours, mobile work options, and a meaningful mission focused on public safety.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science, Communication Technology, Mathematics, or a comparable field; alternatively, a completed IT vocational training with relevant work experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in DevOps, automation, or software deployment
- At least 5 years of professional IT experience required if no university degree is held
- Proven expertise in high-level programming languages (C++, Python, or Rust)
- Experience in the rollout and support of CI/CD pipelines
- Practical experience with ML frameworks and model monitoring is preferred
- Experience in information security is an advantage
