Job Summary
As a Senior Process Engineer at Danisco Deutschland GmbH (part of IFF), you will be a technical expert driving the optimization and development of industrial bioprocess and fermentation systems at the Niebüll production site. Your day-to-day responsibilities include identifying production issues, implementing scale-up solutions, and supporting capital investment (CapEx) projects from concept through commissioning. You will create critical process documentation such as PFDs and P&IDs, perform mass and energy balance calculations, and define process control strategies alongside automation teams. This role is highly impactful, offering the opportunity to work with advanced microbial technologies and collaborate with international engineering teams across the EMEA region. It is an ideal position for an experienced engineer looking to influence global production processes within a leading biotechnology environment focused on food, health, and bioscience innovation.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in industrial biotechnology and fermentation
- Extensive experience in process engineering and bioprocess engineering
- Proven track record in optimizing upstream and downstream production systems
- Experience with fermentation or microbial production systems
- Experience supporting FAT/SAT and commissioning activities
