Job Summary
The Verkehrsmuseum Dresden is seeking a dedicated Workshop Employee specializing in Electronics and Media IT. In this role, you will be instrumental in the museum's technical operations, from conceptualizing and implementing electronic projects to troubleshooting and repairing exhibition systems, including the complex model railway. You'll also be responsible for developing and adapting software for interactive exhibits, maintaining both hardware and software, and assisting with exhibition setup and dismantling. This position requires a hands-on individual with a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings, to support the museum's operational hours. It's an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about technology and its application in a dynamic museum environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., Mechatronics Technician, Electronics Technician)
Experience
- Conceptual and practical experience with small and low-voltage electronic systems
- Professional experience in fault finding and repair of specific systems (e.g., block section control)
- Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of general and specific exhibition systems (PC and self-developed interactive experiment stations)
- Experience in maintaining and repairing building services equipment (minor repairs)
- Experience in internal general transport
