Job Summary

The City of Burgwedel is seeking a GIS Expert to lead and expand its digital geoinformation infrastructure. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for all GIS activities across the municipal administration, focusing on increasing efficiency through modern tools. Your daily tasks will include managing the ESRI product suite, developing web-based maps for field staff using Survey123 and ArcGIS Online, and maintaining the city's 'Digital Twin' project. You will play a pivotal role in transitioning from server-stand-alone systems to enterprise solutions while providing technical support and training to colleagues across various departments. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys a mix of technical administration, Python programming, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geoinformatics, Geodesy, Surveying, Landscape Management, Geography, or Environmental Science with a focus on GIS.

Experience

  • Professional experience in GIS administration and geodata analysis
  • Experience in the application and configuration of the ESRI product family
  • Experience in programming Python applications for GIS contexts
  • Experience with web-based GIS applications such as Experience Builder and Scene Viewer

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Knowledge of the Lower Saxony Geodata Infrastructure Act (NGDIG) is required. Must be able to work on-site in Burgwedel (Hanover region) for a 39-hour work week.
