Job Summary
The Microbiome Dynamics Group at the Institute of Microbiology, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, is seeking a dedicated PhD student for a high-impact research project focused on metagenomics and big data integration. In this role, you will work within the 'SynThera' project to integrate shotgun metagenomics data with genome-scale metabolic modeling. Your primary objective will be to utilize machine learning methods to propose innovative strategies for increasing the colonization potential of engineered probiotic strains in the human gut. Beyond core research, you will contribute to international collaborations, publish findings in scientific journals, and present at global conferences. Required Skills
Education
