Job Summary

This role supports the 'Systemic AngioCardioScience' research group at the newly established Helmholtz Institute for Translational AngioCardioScience (HI-TAC). As a Biological Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day experimental and molecular biology activities, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, genotyping, cloning, and in vitro transcription. A core component of this position involves the independent management and care of zebrafish (Danio rerio) colonies, encompassing breeding coordination, microinjections, and meticulous database maintenance. You will also handle laboratory organization, such as ordering supplies and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (TA, BTA) or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in a molecular biology laboratory, specifically with PCR-based methods
  • Practical experience in cloning techniques and in vitro transcription is preferred
  • Experience in handling laboratory animals, specifically zebrafish, is highly advantageous
  • Professional experience in laboratory organization and quality assurance
