Job Summary

This part-time position (20 hours per week) offers a unique opportunity to support the leadership of the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation in Weimar. Sharing responsibilities with another part-time colleague, you will be central to the foundation's daily operations, ensuring smooth administrative workflows and professional communication with both internal teams and external international partners. Your day-to-day will involve managing the secretariat, coordinating complex schedules, and preparing for high-profile meetings, workshops, and public events. You will also handle guest receptions and travel arrangements. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong interpersonal skills who wants to contribute to a meaningful institution dedicated to historical remembrance and education. The position is permanent and offers a collaborative environment within a motivated team of over 80 employees, providing a stable yet diverse workplace in a historically significant cultural setting.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training, preferably as a Management Assistant for Office Communication, Administrative Assistant, or equivalent long-term relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in administrative or office management roles
  • Experience in the museum or cultural sector is desirable
  • Proven track record in organizing secretariats and managing executive schedules
  • Experience in preparing and following up on meetings, workshops, and public events
