Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the BioDive4Soil project at the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME. As a PhD Student, you will be central to a nationwide baseline survey of soil biodiversity in Germany. Your day-to-day activities will involve the entire scientific lifecycle: from conducting nationwide soil sampling and laboratory processing to performing complex chemical and molecular biological analyses. You will focus on impact monitoring using environmental DNA (eDNA) to investigate how land use intensity and chemical stress affect biodiversity. This position is ideal for researchers who enjoy a mix of field work, laboratory science, and data analysis. You will collaborate within a large consortium of experts, providing a high-level networking environment.
