Job Summary
As the Head of the Technical Municipal Building Department, you will lead a dedicated team and oversee the technical personnel of the municipality, including the local building yard. This multifaceted role places you at the intersection of technical execution, citizen engagement, and local politics. You will be responsible for representing technical matters in municipal committee meetings, acting as the primary point of contact for residents and local businesses, and managing the client-side functions for municipal construction projects in collaboration with external architectural and engineering firms. Beyond traditional construction, you will drive the conceptual development of technical infrastructure, green spaces, and environmental protection initiatives, including municipal climate protection and heat planning. This position offers a high degree of independence and the opportunity to shape the physical and environmental future of the community within a supportive, professional environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed technical-administrative degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Spatial Planning, Environmental Planning, Forestry, Immission Control, Transportation, or a related field.
Experience
- Professional experience in municipal administration is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience and management competence
- Experience in coordinating with engineering and architectural firms
- Proven track record in organizational management and technical project oversight
- Experience in public committee work and technical communication
