Job Summary
As a Customs Expert at Wintipak, you will play a pivotal role in managing the international flow of goods for a global leader in aseptic packaging. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will oversee import and export processes for packaging materials, machinery, and spare parts across the company's international entities. Your day-to-day will involve complex product classification (HS-Codes), ensuring legal compliance with international trade regulations, and managing customs documentation such as export declarations and certificates of origin. You will act as a strategic partner for internal departments and a primary contact for customs authorities during audits. This position is ideal for a professional who wants to move beyond administrative tasks to actively shape and optimize customs structures within a growing, sustainable company. Required Skills
Education
Completed commercial vocational training or a university degree, ideally specializing in Foreign Trade, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Business Law, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the customs sector, preferably within an international industrial company
- Extensive experience in the classification of complex goods such as composite materials or technical components
- Proven track record in managing international import and export processes
- Experience in handling customs audits and communicating with authorities
- Experience with customs software (ATLAS) and ERP systems is required
Languages
Additional
- Technical understanding of material compositions is required for correct customs classification. Knowledge of AEO certification is a distinct advantage. Must be able to work at the facility with occasional travel for audits or inter-departmental collaboration.
