Job Summary

This role involves driving the software development lifecycle for military naval projects in Hamburg. As a Software Requirements Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating, initiating, and implementing software activities based on complex architectures. Your daily tasks include reducing system complexity through decomposition, creating implementation concepts, and designing software components. A significant portion of the role focuses on requirements engineering, where you will use IBM DOORS to create specifications at the system, component, and unit levels, as well as developing test specifications. You will work within an agile development team to ensure that software architecture elements meet strict time, quality, and cost standards. This position is particularly attractive for those who enjoy hardware-oriented programming and working on high-stakes, large-scale maritime defense systems within a collaborative and structured environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with additional technical college education or specialized further training.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in software development
  • Extensive experience in creating SMART requirements
  • Proven experience with modern C++ and low-level/hardware-proximate programming
  • Experience working within agile software development environments
  • Professional background in complex software architecture and decomposition
