Job Summary

This role at the East Hesse Police Headquarters in Fulda involves comprehensive IT support and systems administration within a public service environment. As an IT Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of IT hardware, from procurement and initial setup of stationary and mobile workstations to repair and decommissioning. Your day-to-day tasks include providing user support based on ITIL standards, administering Microsoft Windows and Office environments, and managing mobile devices via MDM. A unique aspect of this position is the opportunity to contribute to the digitalization of business processes through automation and application development, as well as providing technical support during police operations. This is a permanent, full-time position (TV-H E10) that offers the stability of public service, including a free public transport ticket for Hesse until the end of 2026 and a commitment to work-life balance through possible part-time arrangements.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with at least a satisfactory grade, or a higher relevant qualification (e.g., a degree in Computer Science).

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT user support and service desk operations
  • Experience in the digitalization of business processes and workflow automation
  • Experience in software development and programming, specifically for web or Excel applications
  • Experience in the installation and configuration of modern Windows operating systems
  • Professional experience with network structures and wireless data transmission
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) is preferred
  • Experience within public administration or government structures is an advantage
