Job Summary

As an EMC Test Bench Engineer at the Institute for Electrified Aero Engines, you will play a pivotal role in developing sustainable aviation technologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing EMC test concepts for hybrid-electric propulsion systems and specifying the requirements for the innovative 'HepCo-EMV' test bench. You will oversee the technical construction and commissioning of this facility, subsequently leading test campaigns and managing research projects for industrial and academic partners. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys bridging the gap between theoretical concept development and hands-on experimental testing. Working for the German Aerospace Center (DLR) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to climate-neutral aviation within a world-class research environment. The role is based in Cottbus and offers a 3-year fixed-term contract with public service remuneration (TVöD).

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master's or Diploma) in Engineering, such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, Measurement and Control Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the conception and construction of research and development test benches
  • Extensive experience in EMC measurements and measuring equipment
  • Experience in preparing and executing publicly funded research projects at national and European levels
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with customers and development partners
  • Professional experience in drive technology, specifically electrified propulsion systems
