Job Summary

The City of Marktoberdorf is seeking a Head of Financial Management to lead its fiscal operations starting September 2026. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee the entire financial administration department, including the commercial management of municipal utilities and the administration of city foundations. Your daily responsibilities will involve preparing budget plans for the city and its subsidiaries, managing real estate and leasehold matters, and handling utility contracts. As a key representative of the administration, you will work closely with the First Mayor and participate in city council and committee meetings. This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills who can navigate complex public sector finances and legal frameworks. Required Skills

Education

Qualification for the Third Qualification Level (QE III) for civil servants or completion of the Administrative Specialist Course II (BL II) for employees.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public financial administration or municipal finance
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage subordinate departments
  • Experience in strategic and conceptual work within a governmental or administrative context
  • Experience in representing an organization in public committees or council meetings
  • Experience in managing economic participations or foundations
