Job Summary
As a Civil Engineer for Road Construction and Maintenance at Autobahn GmbH, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of maintenance and repair measures for Germany's federal highway network. Your daily tasks involve reviewing planning documents, managing cost calculations, and ensuring compliance with building laws, traffic safety, and environmental regulations. You will act as a key project stakeholder, commissioning and managing external engineering firms throughout the various HOAI performance phases (1-7). The role requires active collaboration with public authorities and representing project plans in public participation forums. This position offers a unique opportunity to work for one of Germany's largest infrastructure operators, combining the stability of federal ownership with modern working practices like mobile work and flexible hours. It is an ideal role for an engineer looking to manage large-scale public infrastructure projects from inception through to operational completion.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor/Diploma) in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Road Construction, Civil Engineering, or Transport Engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in planning, coordination, and implementation of road maintenance or civil engineering projects
- Experience in managing external engineering offices and service providers
- Experience in handling public procurement and engineering contracts (HOAI, UVgO)
- Proven track record in cost control and schedule management for infrastructure measures
- Experience in coordinating with public authorities and community stakeholders
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license and willingness to drive a company vehicle within the branch territory is required. Must have the ability to work independently and make economic decisions.
