Job Summary
As a Cloud Platform Engineer for Airbus Defence and Space, you will play a critical role in managing and operating Kubernetes clusters, specifically utilizing Ubuntu and Microk8s. Your daily responsibilities involve ensuring high availability, monitoring, and patch management to maintain cluster stability. A major focus of the role is the design, implementation, and optimization of automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins within a GitOps framework. You will define and maintain deployment manifests for both applications and infrastructure. Beyond technical tasks, you will collaborate with international security and product teams, coordinate simulation-based research projects, and manage work packages regarding time, cost, and quality. This position is particularly attractive as it offers an 'equal pay' model aligned with Airbus collective agreements, flexible working hours with home-office options, and a clear path toward permanent employment within the aerospace industry.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (AI), or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the IT sector
- Practical experience with containerization technologies
- Experience in the operation and management of Kubernetes clusters
- Experience in designing and optimizing automated CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in project coordination, specifically managing work packages for time, cost, and quality
Languages
Additional
- Willingness for cross-site collaboration; ability to work in Immenstaad; experience with simulation-based research projects is preferred.
