Job Summary
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for the comprehensive evaluation and calculation of electrical engineering projects. Your daily activities involve reviewing and assessing tender documents, preparing detailed cost estimates for bills of quantities (BoQ) and flat-rate service descriptions, and obtaining quotes from material suppliers and subcontractors. You will work closely with the procurement department to identify technically equivalent alternatives during the bidding phase and assist in maintaining long-term supplier relationships. A key part of the role is ensuring the timely submission of bids in compliance with VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures) standards. This position is ideal for experienced estimators or skilled electrical professionals looking to transition from on-site construction work to a strategic office-based role. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in electrical engineering or commercial training with electrical knowledge; ideally further qualification as a Master Craftsman (Meister), Technician, or a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in electrical estimation or extensive practical experience on construction sites
- Experience in cost calculation methods and bidding processes
- Experience in evaluating tender documents and bills of quantities
- Experience in obtaining and comparing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
