Job Summary

This role involves leading the HR and Organization department for the 3Landesmuseen Braunschweig, Lower Saxony's largest state museum network. You will be responsible for both strategic and operational HR management, including personnel planning, recruitment, onboarding, and professional development for approximately 100 employees. A key part of the role is ensuring compliance with German public sector labor laws (TV-L), civil service regulations, and collective bargaining agreements. You will serve as the central point of contact for the board, department heads, and staff councils while handling complex legal cases and disciplinary matters. This position is ideal for an experienced HR leader who enjoys working in a cultural and scientific environment. The role offers a permanent contract, flexible working hours, and the opportunity for mobile work within a prestigious public institution.

Required Skills

Education

Qualification for the first entry level of career group 2 in the General Services branch (Laufbahngruppe 2, 1. Einstiegsamt der Fachrichtung Allgemeine Dienste).

Experience

  • Long-term professional experience in a similar position within a public sector institution, preferably for the State of Lower Saxony
  • Proven leadership experience with strong communication and moderation skills
  • Extensive experience in labor, collective bargaining, and civil service law
  • Relevant experience in conducting workplace and post evaluations
  • Professional experience in museum operations or cultural event management is beneficial
