Job Summary
As a Building Services Technician at the Borstel Research Center, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex technical infrastructure within a leading international lung research facility. Your day-to-day work involves managing highly specialized laboratory environments alongside historic office buildings, ensuring operational readiness through fault analysis and troubleshooting of electrical, ventilation, and cooling systems. You will perform cross-trade inspections, oversee external service providers during construction projects, and maintain building automation systems. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology, Plant Mechanic for Sanitary, Heating and Air Conditioning, Mechatronics Technician for Refrigeration, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of technical building systems
- Several years of practical experience in the maintenance of HVAC systems is preferred
- Experience in managing external service providers and construction projects
- Proven track record in working with building control systems and automation

- Participation in on-call duty (Rufbereitschaft) is required. Must hold a valid Class B (formerly Class 3) driver's license.
