Job Summary

As a Field Service Engineer for the Materials and Structural Analysis Division, you will be the primary technical point of contact for high-end electron microscopy systems in the Berlin area. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing on-site installations, complex repairs, and preventative maintenance for Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) portfolios. You will also provide critical customer training on system operation and maintenance, manage local spare parts inventory, and coordinate with third-party service providers. This role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy a blend of hands-on engineering and customer relations. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field (Engineering or Physics) is required. Alternatively, a full Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) education is accepted as an equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree.

Experience

  • 5+ years of service experience in a related scientific, technical, or customer-facing role is desired
  • Professional experience with electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting and repairing sophisticated technical equipment
  • Experience in providing technical training and instructions to customers
  • Experience in managing service documentation, work orders, and quotes
