Job Summary
The Municipal Waste Management Association 'Niederlausitz' (KAEV) is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as the Executive Director starting January 1, 2027. In this high-level role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term development of a public law corporation serving approximately 89,000 residents. Your duties include preparing and executing board resolutions, managing economic plans and annual financial statements, and representing the association in legal and public matters. You will lead a team of 38 employees, fostering a culture of appreciation and professional growth. This position is ideal for a professional with deep roots in public administration or waste management who excels at navigating complex legal frameworks and multi-stakeholder environments. The role offers a challenging, autonomous environment with compensation according to TVöD E15 and the provision of a company car for professional and private use.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Master's or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Economics, Administration, Engineering, Technology, or Law.
Experience
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in a management role with disciplinary personnel responsibility
- Proven experience preferably gained within a special-purpose association, utility/waste management company, or municipal administration
- Extensive knowledge in business administration, administrative science, and technical areas related to waste management
- Strong expertise in public law, specifically municipal constitutions and tax codes relevant to Brandenburg

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be able to represent the association in public and legal proceedings. Position is based in Lübben (Spreewald).
