Job Summary

As a Senior System Engineer for Virtualization and Automation, you will play a critical role in modernizing the digital infrastructure for the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Working within the Shared Service Operations division, you will focus on building, developing, and operating Kubernetes-based infrastructures in a private cloud environment using VMware vSphere Kubernetes Services (VKS). Your daily responsibilities include the installation and administration of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, implementing infrastructure changes, and providing 2nd and 3rd-level support for incident management. This role is highly technical, requiring the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate deployments and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational IT training or a university degree with a focus on Computer Science.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure or system engineering
  • Professional experience in the operation of Kubernetes environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and operating private cloud environments
  • Experience with deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Professional experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and applications
