Job Summary

This role is based within the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) and focuses on active vehicle safety and driver assistance systems, specifically within the Euro NCAP framework. As a research engineer, you will lead the design, planning, and execution of vehicle technical tests, including emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance for both passenger cars and trucks. A significant portion of the role involves representing German technical positions in high-level international expert groups such as Euro NCAP, EU, and UNECE committees. You will be responsible for developing technical regulations, analyzing experimental data from closed test tracks, and publishing research findings in scientific journals. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence international vehicle safety standards and contribute to the development of automated driving functions.
