Job Summary
This role involves working at the cutting edge of life sciences at the Leipzig facility of GENEWIZ, part of Azenta Life Sciences. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation of DNA libraries using established protocols and kits, as well as performing essential molecular biology techniques such as RNA enrichment, fragmentation, and bead purification. You will operate and maintain automated liquid handling robots and ensure all laboratory processes comply with certified or accredited standards. Beyond technical bench work, you will contribute to Lean Management initiatives, including Kaizen events and problem-solving processes, to optimize laboratory efficiency. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Biological Laboratory Technician (BTA), Chemical Laboratory Technician (CTA), Medical Laboratory Technician (MTA), or a related laboratory science qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience as a Biological, Chemical, or Medical Laboratory Technician
- Practical experience in molecular biology techniques such as fragmentation and bead purification
- Experience in operating and maintaining laboratory automation/robotics
- Experience working under certified or accredited laboratory conditions
- Previous experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is preferred
- Experience or knowledge of Lean Management principles is an advantage
