Job Summary

This role centers on the development of highly complex antenna systems for satellite communications and aerospace applications at a site in Mainz. As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of reflector antenna systems operating at frequencies exceeding 100 GHz. Your daily responsibilities include creating system specifications, designing RF components using coaxial and waveguide technology, and simulating complex transmit/receive chains. A unique and exciting aspect of this position is the opportunity for global travel to perform system commissioning and testing at international sites. You will work within an interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with automation and control specialists to deliver solutions for deep-space missions and civil/military satellite communications. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy a mix of theoretical design, simulation, and hands-on technical commissioning in a high-tech aerospace environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, High-Frequency Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in high-frequency (HF) engineering or aerospace systems is preferred
  • Experience in the design and simulation of RF systems and transmit/receive chains
  • Practical experience with high-frequency measurement equipment and waveguide technology
  • Experience in creating technical system documentation and specifications
  • Experience in interdisciplinary project work and technical coordination with external partners
