Job Summary

This part-time research position at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences involves developing advanced software solutions for simulating heat pumps and refrigeration machines. Working within the Thermal Energy Systems group at the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (ZNES), the successful candidate will focus on enhancing the open-source software 'TESPy'. Day-to-day responsibilities include capturing component characteristics of compressors and heat exchangers, aligning software capabilities with industrial energy requirements, and expanding Python libraries to model specific component behaviors. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (Master's or equivalent), preferably in Energy Engineering or a related technical field. For degrees obtained outside Germany, formal recognition/equivalence documentation is required.

Experience

  • Professional experience or academic specialization in thermal energy technology, specifically regarding heat pumps or refrigeration machines
  • Experience in modeling technical components based on engineering data
  • Programming experience, with a strong preference for Python
  • Experience in collaborating with industrial partners and energy technology experts
