Job Summary
This 8-month contract role within the Technical Optimization department of RWE Renewables focuses on enhancing the competitiveness of onshore wind, battery storage, and solar projects. As a GIS Expert, you will ensure the smooth operation of GIS systems, manage software deployments, and coordinate agile processes across international projects. Your daily tasks involve integrating GIS solutions with business systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365, managing spatial data flows via REST APIs and Power Automate, and leading Scrum processes including sprint planning. You will act as a bridge between technical GIS requirements and business needs, working closely with a community of specialists to maximize project value. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy technical system administration, stakeholder management, and working in a fast-paced, agile environment within the renewable energy sector. The role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements across locations in Germany and the UK.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Computer Science, Spatial Planning, Environmental Sciences, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in working with spatial data, including analysis, processing, and visualization
- Proven experience with Agile and Scrum frameworks, including sprint planning and deployment management
- Experience in GIS system administration and troubleshooting
- Experience working with ESRI products and Microsoft integration tools
- Experience in stakeholder management and working within complex change processes
