Job Summary
This role involves the comprehensive management of the IT infrastructure at the Badische Landesbibliothek, a historic central information institution in Karlsruhe. As a member of the Information Technology team, you will be responsible for the planning, installation, and ongoing maintenance of diverse IT systems within both Microsoft and Linux environments. Your day-to-day activities will include configuring network components, managing peripheral devices, and providing technical support and training to staff members. The position requires a candidate who can work independently while contributing effectively to a high-efficiency team. This role is particularly attractive due to its permanent contract status under the TV-L public service agreement, offering flexible working hours, home office options, and a central city location. Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for Systems Integration (Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) or a comparable professional qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the administration of heterogeneous IT environments including Windows and Linux
- Practical experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and VMware environments
- Demonstrated experience in network component configuration and peripheral device maintenance
- Experience in technical documentation and providing user support/training
