Job Summary
As an Engineer or Geoscientist for Contaminated Site Management at the Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA), you will play a critical role in managing environmental liabilities across Germany's federal property portfolio. Your day-to-day responsibilities include planning hazard defense measures, conducting monetary evaluations of remediation projects, and maintaining the contaminated site register. You will act as a key technical advisor for internal stakeholders and external experts, particularly regarding liability issues in property sales and development. A significant part of the role involves coordinating with regulatory authorities and managing complex projects involving PFAS contamination and explosive ordnance risks. Required Skills
Education
University Degree (Master's or Diploma) in Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Sciences, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the assessment, evaluation, and remediation of contaminated sites, specifically regarding PFAS contamination
- Professional experience in project management and project steering for contaminated site projects
- Professional experience in dealing with environmental regulatory authorities
- Basic experience in explosive ordnance risk and removal
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to travel within Germany (approx. 20+ days per year). German C1 level proficiency required. If degrees were obtained abroad, proof of equivalence (ZAB) must be provided.
