Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of rail transport at Digital Rail Germany. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of complex construction projects focusing on Control and Signaling Technology (LST), specifically European Train Control System (ETCS) and Digital Interlocking (DSTW) systems. Your daily activities will include coordinating technical support across the project lifecycle—from tendering and awarding contracts to construction and final acceptance. You will act as a key technical coordinator, ensuring all engineering disciplines align while managing budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to drive the digital transformation of the German rail network. The role combines technical oversight with project management responsibilities, offering the chance to work on historically significant infrastructure projects in either Munich or Nuremberg.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) in Electrical Engineering, Signaling and Control Technology, Communications Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a comparable technical field.

Experience

  • Extensive professional experience in projects within the field of Control and Signaling Technology (LST)
  • Proven track record in the planning, awarding, and construction phases of technical infrastructure projects
  • Experience in coordinating multiple technical trades and managing third-party regulatory approvals
  • Professional experience in technical and commercial project control, including reporting to project management and PMOs
