Job Summary

As a Senior Data Platform Systems Architect for the City of Ulm, you will play a pivotal role in building the digital foundation for a modern 'Smart City.' Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the end-to-end design, implementation, and evolution of a central urban data platform. This includes developing master data management systems, automating data delivery processes, and programming interfaces to integrate various municipal applications. You will work closely with specialized departments and external software vendors to ensure seamless system integration and data modeling. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys creating new systems from scratch and wants to drive public sector digitalization. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (e.g., in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Mathematics) or alternatively completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with relevant advanced technical knowledge.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience at a senior level
  • Professional experience in data modeling, mapping, and interface development
  • Extensive experience working with relational databases such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience in programming and developing internal tools and components
  • Experience in project management is preferred
  • Experience with API management platforms (e.g., Gravitee.io) is preferred
