Job Summary

This research position at the Institute for Experimental Molecular Imaging (ExMI) involves establishing perfusable, vascularized 3D colorectal tumor spheroids within a mesoscopic, MRI-compatible bioreactor system. As a doctoral candidate, you will be responsible for the cultivation of heterotypic murine tumor spheroids, protocol development, and quality control. You will conduct MRI measurements in cooperation with partners in Münster, perform in vitro and in vivo therapy screenings (including mouse models), and execute biophysical model fitting. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of biotechnology and medical imaging, utilizing advanced techniques like bioprinting and histology. Required Skills

Education

Master of Science in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Chemistry, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in cell culture, specifically 3D culture systems or co-cultures
  • Experience in the cultivation of primary endothelial and stromal cells
  • Experience in histological sample preparation and microscopy
  • Experience with MRI sequence protocols and data analysis
  • Experience in in vivo therapy screenings using mouse models
  • Professional experience in structured documentation and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
