Job Summary

This role involves serving as a functional expert for process analysis systems within a chemical industry setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic development, optimization, and maintenance of process chromatographs and analytical devices. Day-to-day activities include performing error analysis, plausibility checks, and re-applying existing gas chromatographs. You will also lead analytical projects, conduct root cause analyses (RCA), and implement system updates or patches. A key part of the role is training technical staff and ensuring high availability of equipment through preventive maintenance planning. This position is ideal for a technical expert who enjoys working at the intersection of process engineering and automation. Required Skills

Education

State-certified Technician, Master Craftsman (Meister), or equivalent degree specializing in Electrical Engineering and Automation Technology; Qualified Electrician according to VDE-0105-100; Additional training in Gas Chromatography preferred.

Experience

  • 5 years in the maintenance of (petro-) chemical industrial plants, specifically those subject to major accident regulations
  • Professional experience in planning and implementing reliability and integrity measures
  • Extensive experience in process analytics including gas/liquid analyzers and gas warning systems
  • Experience in deriving safety requirements from hazard assessments
  • Experience working within international matrix organizations

Additional

  • Must be a qualified electrician (VDE-0105-100). Participation in expert on-call standby duty is required. Knowledge of the German Major Accident Ordinance (Störfall-Verordnung) is necessary.
